Enhanced Pain Relief
All our clinicians carry enhanced pain relief that normal ambulance crews do not carry. This includes fentanyl, ketamine, methoxyflurane and regional anaesthesia. As enhanced care clinicians, BASICS responders can provide drugs over and above the usual practice of front line paramedics.
Procedural Sedation
Many patients have painful injuries such as fractures and dislocations of bones and joints due to accidents and major trauma. BASICS South East brings the emergency department to the patient, providing procedural sedation to temporarily sedate patients and relocate joints, manage fractures or provide cardioversion.
Life, limb and sight saving procedures
Our lead clinicians are appropriately trained to provide interventions, including surgical airway, thoracostomy, sight saving eye surgery, in order to treat and rescue trapped and critically unwell patients.
cardiac arrest management
Our clinicians are experienced in advanced techniques for both adult and paediatric cardiac arrest management and provide a crucial addition to the chain of survival, bringing forward additional drugs for Advanced Life Support and decision making with Point of Care Ultrasound
Clinical Decision Making
Bringing senior clinicians to the scene means that we are able to provide critical decision making to support the ambulance crews and help identify the best clinical pathways for the patient. WE utilise cutting edge point of care blood analysis tools and ultrasound to aid our decision making.
BASICS South East is able to provide support to patients who may have a lower clinical acuity but have multiple complex issues. Our experience means that we are often able to support keeping patients at home by instigative the right care at the right time.
